So, I used to play the flute, many years ago, and I got a new flute and want to start playing again.
can someone who plays flute either write out the fingerings, including the home position, and then the notes, or direct me to a site that does this? I remember how to play just, not the fingerings blah.
Thanks.
Hey I play clarinet and want to get me a flute someday. Anyway why couldn't you get some audio lessons? I'm sure they sell them at music stores or online somewhere. That's what I did with my clarinet. Just an idea.
A good place for an audio lesson might be www.musicfortheblind.com. It's run by a music teacher named Bill Brown. He's sighted but he does an excellent job of explaining his material in nonvisual terms. He offers courses in a total of eleven instruments at last count, one being the flute. And they're fairly priced as far as I'm concerned. The download version is 35 dollars while the tape or CD version is 39. I have both his guitar and penny whistle course and I've enjoyed them immensely. And if and when I get my hands on one I plan on trying his banjo course as well.
Ok. Assuming you know where to place your fingers, I can help.

For all the fingerings that include"optional" after the RP, including it will not change the sound, but may help you hold your flute better. There's more, but I don't know them. Sorry, and I hope that helps. Remember that you need to adjust the flow of air across the head joint as you get higher. Best of luck!
Google Flute Fingerings as there is a whole site dedicated to woodwinds fingerings which I have used for some advanced recorder fingerings, and to learn the penny whistle / fife fingerings. IMHO audio lesson wouldn't help you you need to look at the chart and different ones show them differently, combo of o, x, c, dash and the like. But they generally have a key explaining it.
As long as it doesn't include bandcamp, I can try! lol! but I can't play flute, so sorry. best of luck.
